Hi friends!
Can you imagine Ann Marie Buerkle or Dan Maffei traveling our Congressional district by bicycle? Well, this candidate is has spent the last three days on a bike tour through parts of Wayne and Oswego counties - a hybrid campaign-vacation to get to know our district and to refuel for the final push of this campaign. I've been most touched by the conversations we've had with farmers. Some surprised they have any apples and peaches at all and others now finally convined that climate change is a serious threat to our way of life here in Upstate New York. This trip through the beautiful orchards of Wayne County and along the Lake Ontario shoreline has reaffirmed my commitment to organizing and working for the better world that we know is possible - we need policies like the Green New Deal to put our people back to work and to protect our beautiful planet.
This past week our campaign has seen a flurry of media activity. Yesterday, I caught up with YNN's Bill Carey in Wolcott NY to discuss
the state's new laws against bath salts. You can read my full statement about
ending the Drug War here. Earlier this week, I sat down with the
Post Standard Editorial Board and also with Grant Reeher for the Campbell Conversations (we''ll share the link to the radio interview that once it's online). Please read and share the articles with friends and family so that they know that on Election Day there is a real choice on the ballot.
I'll be back in Syracuse on Monday, in time for our Syracuse Greens monthy meeting - 7:30pm at the Center for Peace and Social Justice (2013 E. Genesee St.) Please join us - to meet local Greens and to get involved with the campaign!
We can't build a people powered political movement without you!
