The Senate is voting on the DISCLOSE Act today. Share this Email on Facebook

Take the lead on the DISCLOSE Act
We need the DISCLOSE Act to bring secret money in our elections into the light.
People from communities across the country have been responding big-time to our major petition drive -- we're within striking distance of reaching an amazing 300,000 progressives who have come together to make it clear that we won't stand for unlimited, secret money in this election.
But now, only hours remain to hit that powerful 300,000-signature benchmark before the crucial vote on the DISCLOSE Act in the Senate.
If you haven't signed the petition yet, please sign now.
This is a big day for our movement. We've reached this key vote because of the work and dedication you and your fellow progressives have shown. Let's score a victory for true democracy today.
Thank you for uniting as a progressive,

Time for Full Disclosure (From The Reform Project)

Reformers,

Today, the United States Senate is set to vote on Senator Sheldon Whitehouse’s (D-RI) DISCLOSE Act, a bill that would force organizations (corporations, Super PACs, PACs, labor unions, nonprofits) that spend money on campaign expenditures to disclose their donors, and do so within 24 hours of the expenditure if it is more than $10,000.

Traditionally speaking, conservatives have long been proponents of full-disclosure, while liberals were proponents of limits. As Governor Roemer stated throughout his recent presidential campaign, “We now live in a nation with neither.” Conservatives and liberals ought to agree that there is nothing democratic about using secret money to influence an election. This clearly provides great potential for corruption.

In less than a month, you will have the opportunity to directly lobby your Congressman or Senator from our website --
TheReformProject.org -- where we will help you fight for meaningful reforms such as the DISCLOSE Act.

Thank you,

Carlos Sierra

P.S. If you would like to read the bill from a non-bias source, please visit
The Library of Congress and simply type in S3369. You can also read The Campaign Legal Center’s review of the bill here.
